Has anyone inadvertently managed to strip some of the threads in the swirl-pot? I appear to have done this and now the hex-nut will not securely seat / seal.
Are there any re-threading options, or is it a call to ACT for a replacement? Thanks

A repair might be cheaper if you can find someone to weld alluminium?

Depending how big a mess you've made of it you may be able to restore what's left of the thread?

You could re thread with a tap, a cheap and cheerful one would do it.

Thanks both and thanks phillpot for the link to the tap. Will give that a go and hopefully save the £240 cost of a new one! Thanks again.

Try a 1/2 BSP tap its smaller and far less likely to remove more material than that M22 above , then fit one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111268478093?itmmeta=01...

Surely a 1/2" BSP tap will be too small, it'll fall straight through the M22 thread?

Where does the temperature switch go if he puts a bung in the hole?

Helicoils? Buy a kit of the correct thread you get a tap to suit the helicoil and a selection of helicoils, they are just like stainless steel springs. Put the thread back to standard

The swirl pots are bad enough for the brass plugs reacting with the ali. Adding another metal in to the area would be very TVR biglaugh
