£20k - What in the name of overrun flames...

Debate has erupted among us about what mayhem £20k can buy you these days that is capable of Noise, fun, flames, asbo noises and not always in that order.

Rather dissapointingly all i could get to was an E60 m5 which with some choice parts selection could be made to put a smile on anyones face.

The only disclaimer i'll put is that it can't be a V8 jag and when not acting like a tool where conditions allow will ferry one to work and back in relative comfort.

Maybe not flames unless it has a turbo but burble on overun with the secondary cats removed & a map are easily achievable with all of these, I'm assuming it's 20k all in including the mods?

A nice Ferrari derived V8 in the Maserati 4200 sounds awesome on a cold start. Costs little over half the budget

37 of the 82 TVRs listed on Autotrader are under £20k - everyone of those will make a nice noise.

The 6 Holden based Vauxhalls on there are all under the limit too for some more modern V8 action.

An E46 M3 or a Z4M sounds fantastic at high revs, especially with an aftermarket intake and/or backboxes, but shouldn't produce flames - unless there is something wrong with it!

I'm sure there must be an Asbo exhaust option for a Vauxhall Monaro.
