Wayne Rooney 2.
Discussion
Bugger. Cant believe my last Topic got closed !!
Who cares if Rooney plays for Man U, or that Van Persie &/or Vierra got sent off.
The jist of my point was to ascertain if fellow Pistonheaders thought he was an idiot or not (since from my subsequent postings I clearly thought he was). If people then want to raise the issue of Keane, Vierra or Van Persie, then feel free, though perhaps on a different Topic ?
For mt 2p worth though :
Vierra is French & now plays in the Italian League, so he doesnt concern me as an England supporter or someone who follows the English Premiership.
Whether he plays for Man U, Arsenal or Chelsea , its his conduct I was critising, not his club. To be fair though, Sir Alec has refused to defend him. Ofcourse though the media spotlight is focused on him to a greater degree at Man U by virtue of their greater stature in the game, though if Rooney didnt appreciate this when he joined them, perhaps he is even more ignorant than I originally gave him credit for.
As for Van Persie, again he is foreign (Dutch) & in any event, doesnt have the media exposure of Rooney, because he is neither as talented, paid as much, or the great white hope of English Football.
Rooneys behaviour was totally unacceptable. You cannot shove your hands in the Refs face like he did & expect to get away with it. In addition his age is largely not a factor, since he was playing for Everton at 16 & was groomed to be nothing more or less than a proffesional footballer since he was about 11. Surely by now he should have learned to curb his temper ?Anyway, if had really lost all self control as claimed, surely he would have lamped the Ref, rather than merely clapping his hands together. Inference here is that he clearly new what he was doing & made a concious decision to do it.

Second thread...?
He's still an idiot.
Are you aware of the difference between idiot, and other slang words though?
Andymac seriously fella, are you only on here to wind me up? absolutley no need for that.
(milf, apolgies as I think I would have contributed to having your post stopped - this was because anymac insisting on calling him a prick and justifying it by saying a prick is exactly the same as an idiot - I totally disagreed with him & it went from there)
Back to topic - i totally agree he was an idiot for doing it.
rooney - idiot
andymac - prick (that should help you understand kid)

Good response there, well done fella, excellent use of diction to get across your well reasoned argument in a coherent & well balanced fashion.
As for Viera, why should I care about him, hes French & thus doesnt play for England & in any event he now plays for Juventus. What next, referral to the J League in Japan ?
Whether my observation makes you sick is a matter of supreme indifference to me, since by virtue of your loutish response, your not the sort of individual whose opinion I care a jot for. As for hating Man U, no not really & as for hating England, certainly not. Its the fact that I love my National Team so much that I get so angry that this thuggish, overly aggresive & indulged brat is regrettably seemingly the best hope we have to win any Silverwear.
Finally, the "lad" as you call him is not a 13 year old child, hes a man who should act like one, rather than a petulant brat who spits his dummy out of the pram at every opportunity.
I await your ill judged response with interest.......
I didn't really reply to your original post MILF, sorry.

Make your mind up, MILF.
Originally you said:

Should it not be 'You're' instead of 'Your'. Top one MILF. Did you take the cherry from your mouth before you typed that?

sorry gazboy, just sick of his sarcastic tone and constant dig at me - all because I dared to suggest his loutish term (prick) was a bit harsh.
hasn't stopped you using it though, has it. And what constant dig? I fear you are a little over-sensetive. In fact, can you point out where I have been winding you up, or having constant digs???

MILF said:Why? Can't you accept that certain players will always have a feisty attitude? If I'm playing or watching a football and I think I've been cheated by a ref/player then I'll give 'em hell. Yes you have to draw a line somewhere and Rooney was punished accordingly. Remember when Henry went absolutely ballistic at the ref at the end of a game (Newcastle)? That was far worse than what Rooney has ever done yet you don't see him being crucified.
Surely by now he should have learned to curb his temper?
MILF said:Err no, there's a slight difference there. What Rooney did is replicated nearly every week up and down the country, Rooney just happened to do it very close to the ref.
Anyway, if had really lost all self control as claimed, surely he would have lamped the Ref, rather than merely clapping his hands together.
