Ive got a v8v roadster 09 plate

Ive got a car cover for it, but the wing mirrors need to stay in the out position for the cover to fit

Is there anyway i can get the mirros to stick out when the vehicle is locked ?

Look in the menu I think it’s under car settings or something like that, find mirrors and alter the fold mirror setting by removing the cross. The joystick is the “enter” button.

I think for an 09 car it’s an AMDS job

This. It depends on the year of your car, as you can change the fold settings in the Car Settings menu in the later cars. But if you can’t see the option I’m afraid it’s a trip to a MD or AM specialist to hook it up to AMDS. BRM.

If you pull the fuse, the car may 'forget' the automatic folding setting (which will then require use of AMDS to reinstate)

Maybe cheaper to get a seamstress to
Modify the cover?

I thought that, but they want me to take the car to yorkshire (im in london) in order to measure it.

I offered to give them the dimensions, but they wont work with customer provided dimensions (to be fair i would think its quite a hard thing to measure and articulate back to them anyway)

Thanks, i was looking in the online user guide for the car and found the setting in there, but when i looked in my actual user guide / log book it wasnt in there.

Ive checked the settings on the car itself, quick video here - https://imgur.com/zWR3HSN - but there is nothing in there.

Ive seen online that you can get a Foxwell ODB reader with Aston codes, do you think that would be able to add the setting into the centre console menu so i can turn it on off without having to hook up to the ODB in future, or will the ODB change just manually set / unset the option for all future use.

Blimey - I struggle to believe that a tailored cover can't wrap over a folded mirror. The mirror does not occupy any more or less space being folded, the material will fold with the mirror.

I have a tailored cover on one of mine and it doesn't matter if mirrors are in or out.

Hang on - you're saying the cover will only fit if the mirrors are OUT?

It may have little pockets for the mirrors but does really not go over the car with mirrors IN?

My car (07 DB9) is the opposite to yours - autofold is currently disabled and it needs AMDS to reset. I want them to autofold!

Is this a cover from Specialised Covers?

I have one on my Vantage (coupe) and it still works with the mirrors folded, although it isn’t as snug as when they are out. For my next cover I would probably schlep up there and have it measured / fitted with the mirrors folded for added peace of mind.

On my (MY10) you can select the folding mirrors on the menu and also manually fold them via the switch.

Mine will fold from within by pressing left and right buttons together. The OP's car probably has the same switches.

What happens if you put the cover on and then lock the car so that the mirrors fold with the covers on?

That does look snug. How does it work in the wind ? Does it move about ?? I have similar cover that came with the car but have to “tie it down” with extra belts front and rear. Maybe time to invest …
