Hi All,

Apols if this has been discussed before.....

Now that the nice(ish) weather is here, I quite fancy taking my old Alfa along to a coffee and cars morning.

I tend to avoid the full on classic car shows as (as a participant) it's a full day commitment and I don't really have the time.

Cars and Coffee suits me better as I can get there early doors, get a brew, bacon roll, blether to other owners then head off.

These seem to be really poorly promoted online, probs all over fb but I find searching for specific things on fb a PIA.

Does any know of or recommend of cars and coffee events within a reasonable drive from the central belt?

Cheers!

The Tartan Tarmac breakfast meets used to be good but seemed to dry up. Maybe a victim of their own success?

Following with interest. Wife and daughter would be bored at a traditional car show so a breakfast meet fits the bill!

There's a monthly one in Inverness but that's perhaps a mile or two too far.

Bacon and Brakes at the Rhynd Cafe near Leuchars is good. 1st Sunday morning of the month.

We went along again this month, great turn out, lots of interesting cars and good coffee and rolls. Even had an autotest going on in the field.

Getting very busy these days though and I guess a risk it might become a victim of its own success

Scotland is really missing a 'motoring hub' for things like this.

Down south seem to have all the fun with Bicester Heritage, Goodwood, Caffeine & Machine etc.

Exactly this. They get more and more popular which makes them difficult to manage.

Plus at alot of events morons ruin it for other people by driving like tts in and around the venue... thats why bills breakfast meet finished in paisley at st mirren because of idiots leaving in souped up fiestas and astras driving like idiots... people complaned and that was that! Its a shame as it was a good car meet that i enjoyed taking my son to.

I completely forgot about the St.Mirren meet, the same was for Autobahn as the modified cars were ruining the public car meets.

Yeah there were alot of vehicles there. Organisers thought over 140 from motorbikes, cars to busses and fire engines. I was beside the royal bank of scotland but had to leave at 2:30pm. Im now in cumbernauld but spent alot of my life in bearsden / milngavie

My wee one is 4 - there's a limit to how many cars I can see when she wants pizza and the duck race.

Agree, I went in May also and it is not a patch on what it was. Far fewer nice cars and no real control over where you park. Coffee is good though.

Went to the first one (Highland Drivers Club) in September last year and it was pretty dull. Hardly anyone there.

Went to Rollerbowl the week after and it was hoochin'! Huge selection of interesting cars and a lot of friendly folk to speak to. Trying to get back down for another visit sometime this year.

The Highland Drivers Club meet is getting bigger and bigger every month, they usually have burger & coffee vans.

I finally made it home for the Rollerbowl meet for the first time in ages, it always has a good turnout
