We’re back in Imola after missing it last year. The circuit is fast and narrow, and makes for good racing and on occasion big accidents. Best of all, the oaf Croft is missing this race. Harry Benjamin takes his place.
Well done to Lando and McLaren for a fantastic drive and win last time out. Both McLaren’s will have the full upgrade package at Imola and I expect Piastri to be right up there.
Ferrari are bringing a major upgrade, including the Red Bull “over-bite” side pods and it will be interesting to see how that works:
Obviously, after Miami, poll is for the win

Thanks PiaP as usual for the race thread, and great to be back at a proper old-school circuit after a bunch of mostly temporary tracks at the start of the season. Will be interesting to see if McLaren can keep up their pace from Miami, and the rumour is that Mercedes and Ferrari will be bringing their major updates to Imola, so will be interesting to see the field order and if they’ve all closed significant;y to Red Bull.
There will also be extensive commemorations for Ayrton Senna, three decades on from his death at the race here.

Thanks once again PiaP for your stand-out thread contribution to PH F1.
Back to situation normal I feel, with a slightly-less wafty win for Max. Just hope I am wrong...
You're probably right Phil, but the McLaren was right up there on race pace with RBR in Miami. I also have the sense that Ferrari are finally on a good development path- the upgrades look good. Back to situation normal I feel, with a slightly-less wafty win for Max. Just hope I am wrong...
Mercedes- on the other hand- look to be a disaster.

For once, I fully agree with Horner that Toto should concentrate on performance in his paddock rather stirring along the pitlane.Mercedes- on the other hand- look to be a disaster.

Let's hope I have no fking clue!!
Thanks as always, PiaP!
Looking forward to a less forgiving circuit. Errors are too easily unpunished these days, and I’d prefer to see consequences for mistakes (e.g. no points for overtaking off track, as one is in the barriers instead of pottering on and picking up a ten-second post-race penalty).
