Anyone got any recommendations?

Am hoping to take Mrs DarkSide away for her birthday next month - I'd like to go to Coniston but all Lakes ideas are welcome.

We've been staying there once a year for the last 12 years or so.

Expensive, but very beautiful place to be, with excellent service.

Highly recommended

Stakis in Langdale is nice but expensive
Macdonald in Windermere is Ok if they have finished the referb overlooks the lake and good food nearby.

Castle Inn on Bassenthwaite used to be nice not been for ages. Lowood on Windermere has good facilites but it may have deteriorated since the inmates of the assylum destroyed the Lakes economy with the speed limit. (Lowood was the ski centre).

Stayed here www.fayrergarden.com/

It's a bit lol (little old lady) but clean, friendly and a good location in Bowness-on-Windermere.

Right, I really cannot recommend this place highly enough. I have been there 4 times now and I just love it. It's a Guesthouse near windermere and is just wonderful.

Well worth a go!

Beech Hill hotel on Windermere. Stayed there a few times without any complaints. The food is excellent and some of the rooms come with jacuzzis.
