This must be an embarrassment for Brazil, unfortunate timing:-

"Massive flooding and landslides triggered by days of heavy rain in Brazil's southernmost state have killed 55 people, according to local authorities. Officials say another 74 people are missing in Rio Grande do Sul.
Nearly 25,000 residents have been forced to leave their homes since the storms began last Saturday.
At least half a million were without power and clean water, with further rainfall expected".

"Madonna put on a free concert in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday night with throngs of fans flocking to see the pop idol on Brazil's famous Copacabana beach.
"Rio, here we are in the most beautiful place in the world," she declared, as the performance got under way.
The show was the final stop on the 65-year-old's Celebration Tour, celebrating her 40 years in music.
More than 1.5 million fans were estimated to have attended the show."

Er... OK so what you are saying is Brazil (One of the biggest countries on the planet) had some floods and a Madonna concert on around the same time within its borders?

Is this some kind of squirt-shaming thread?

The flooding is terrible for anyone affected of course...but they're some 1000 miles apart!

Came here to say similar to poster above. Brazil is a really big place. The northernmost point is closer to all the other North and South American countries than it is to the furthest part of Brazil.

Not sure what a Madonna concert has to do with flooding 1000 miles away, or why this is embarrassing?

Isn't Brazil bigger the contiguous USA (ie without Alaska)?

Why yes it is and did you also know it's Eastern most point is closer to Africa than it is to it's western most point?

Wait until the OP finds out people can ski and sunbathe in the USA on the same day.

It's been raining all weekend here but the Stranglers are still on in Bristol.
