After many years without a TVR considering getting back into one.

This one has attracted my attention https://www.hpcclassics.co.uk/product-page/1998-tv...

It appears to have lots of trick parts. Anyone know its history, have any more details?

I would be much more concerned about the state of the chassis and in particular the outriggers if these have not been attended to.
Most cars of this age will need outriggers at the least replacing.

Agree with previous post. Your first questions should definitely be about chassis maintenance / restoration. 73,000 miles, but not a single word in their description mentioning the chassis, nor a single photo of it. That seems a little suspicious ...

I remember when a previous owner Bruce had the chassis work done and I don’t think Giles would sell a rubbish car.

It's been in the PH Classifieds for quite some time:

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/15720789

It doesn't help that they've allowed the default data entered of it being a 5.0. DVLA have never been informed either, which makes insurance iffy. Lotus Elise seats (I think?) and the other mods actually devalues it I think, as well as the illegal plates. rolleyes

^^^^ Those seats do nothing for the car, I'd have to change back to original if it were me. Nice spec' though, wonder how long ago the engine was done.

The wheels and seats are hideous i think but with a bit of Tlc it could be a great car.

I’m sure that there is a video on YouTube of this very car, try searching a channel called “Damo Drives”.

I find the Elise seats comfortable and a lot more supporting than the factory seats.

Of the factory seats, the Cerb versions are the best. Supportive and comfortable. Expensive now though.

Nothing wrong wrong with Elise seats (there not for looking at) standard seats are st after all confused the whees look fine staggered alloys always look best on a RWD car anyway
