2019 G31 520d Touring, 40k miles, nearly 5 years old.

Came out this morning, started the car, to be greeted with a 'chassis limitation' message and the rear suspension dropped to the deck as I started to drive off. No previous errors or warnings, car has stood for 5 days but was running fine. The car says it can still be driven to the dealers but is this a good idea - obviously it's very 'hard' and low!
Is there anything obvious I can check like loose connections in the boot area etc?

It's booked in for an oil service next week anyway, but this got me thinking and I looked at the last one - which was Jan 2023 and 12000 miles ago. I thought the intervals were 18k miles so why has it dropped to 12k now? Not that I'm worried as I don't agree with BM's long service intervals anyway, just curious really.

Any helpful advice appreciated chaps, ta.

Hopefully will just be a levelling sensor which isn't a major drama or expense.

Might be worth getting Bimmerlink for your phone and check for fault codes before taking it in. That way you will get some idea of what's required rather than being bent over for parts you don't need.

Any good at DIY?
You can get cheaper replacement pumps off ebay, repair kits for the valves. Can you hear the pump? Check for the fuse/relay to pump?
Four years old its unlikely to be a leak on the shocks but the pipes can get damaged. A little investigation might save £££ as BMW solution is replace everything that it says on the computer for your fault code. Think I was quoted best part of a grand on my F11 when my pump failed. DIY fixed for £150 but did take an hour upside down on the floor replacing the duff pump with a second hand good pump.

If it's the pump they are currently on back order from BMW with no due date, £1200 inc VAT iirc.

Thanks for the replies.
For health and time reasons I really can't do much myself on it for the foreseeable.

This afternoon I drove the car up and down the drive, changed the settings from comfort through sport and eco and back to comfort, and nothing happened, suspension still on the deck.
Put the car in the garage, switched it off but left it unlocked. Five minutes later a whirring sound and the compressor pumped it back up to the right height, and it's stayed up since. So hopefully that means the compressor is Ok and the airbags are not leaking.

I'll see what it's like tomorrow and probably get our local mechanic to see if he can read codes.
