Hi all -

I recently had someone open their door into my car and put a ding and scratch just above the rear wheel arch.

Just had that fixed through my Smart repair insurance, but to respray they had to remove the protective film panel (part 6 in this diagram https://shop.bmw.co.uk/7912/genuine-left-passenger... which I now want to replace.

Just wondering if anyone has replaced one of these before and can suggest best way to go about it.

Is it an easy DIY? I'm mindful that if I try it myself, I might up with a load of bubbles or sticking it in the wrong place

TIA

I was quoted £140 Inc VAT from my local BMW dealership for the protective film and fitting as mine was scratched (did it's job though, hasn't touched the paint). Considering the film is about £40 if you are buying OEM, the £100 is probably worth it to have it done properly.
