Hi

Salisbury diff on my 3000m is leaking from the rear plate does any one now were to get a new gasket from our what thinkness of gasket paper should be used and the tourque setting for the bolts?

Try a classic Jaguar specialist. Just tell them it's a 4HU and stand by for a surprise

I cut a new one for mine from a sheet of gasket paper (it's about 1mm thick but was the only bit the local store could find!) using the old one as a template.

does the trick no problem - cost about £2

Andre there is a jaguar dealer / second hand breaker specialist in Manchester. cannot remember his name but they sell all repair parts.

Failing that they are asy to make with gasket paper and a pin punch for the bolt holes.

OK diff gasket part No C3931

Costs 3.60 plus P%P from Alan Lloyd tel 020 8549 1100
I am going on their advise, and take no responsibility if anyone else buys one and it is wrong part. as soon as I get it will post another response if gasket is OK

It is very rare for the leak to be coming from the gasket more likely to be the breather threads allowing oil out.

got the gasket and fitted ok with no leeks! the part no is the correct one. hope this help anyone else.
