I’m due a service in the coming weeks and have read threads on Facebook and other forums regarding exhaust and emission related recalls that effect the exhaust note (crackles, pops, etc) as well as rev matching on downshifts etc.

Has anyone experienced this in the UK, or is it limited to the US market?

Really don’t want to change the sound and character of the car if I can help it frown

I have read about this too but not sure about UK - my guess is they will.

What I will say is that I took my '21 EVO RWD for a spin last sunday - first time out in about 2 months - the startup loud exhaust lasted much less time than normal ( as if it was starting from warm ) and then in Sport & Corsa mode it seemed much quieter ! Made me wonder if it had had some OTA update but I'm pretty sure that's not possible ?
I’m worried about that. It’s perfect how it is just now.

This thread, although relating to an R8, may be helpful given that the ECU's are much the same.

Oh dear, sounds like it’s possible. Will confirm with the dealer
