Light Car Company V8?
Discussion
I seem to remember a copy of 'Car' magazine about 10 years ago having a feature on project which I'm sure was something to do with the Light Car Company. From what I recall, two 1000cc bike engines had been mated to a common crank to produce a little 2 litre V8 producing about 300bhp at over 10,000 rpm.
Did I dream this or does anyone else remember it?
Maybe the world wasn't ready for it back then but with the advent of trackdays and bike engined Westfields and Caterhams now upon us, what wouldn't a lot of people give to get their hands on something like that now? The back of an Elise (or even a Noble?) would seem like a good home for such a motor. 2 litres ought to give a usable amount of low end torque on normal roads as well as a top end soundtrack to die for.

A couple of years ago, I found my own copy of the CAR issue in question and did an internet search for the Light Car Company to see if there was any more news. Anyway, I emailed them and they replied saying they'd found some problems with the handling of the car and were trying to find the cash to fund some more testing.
