Tailor near Liverpool St?
Discussion
Ede & Ravenscroft have a shop along Gracechurch Street (10 mins from Liverpool Street).
Alternatively, there's Roderick Charles at 31 Blomfield Street (right outside Liverpool Street Station).
I use Thresher & Glenny along Gresham Street, but that's quite a trek from Liv St...

Go and have a poke around mate. I'd have said that E&R, RC and T&G are probably towards the more 'traditional' end of the market, but if you don't ask, you'll never know...
There's also a tailor along Houndsditch that will only do MTM suits, might be worth a look in.
Out of interest, where are you based? I've just started a new job along Bishopsgate...

If you want a real bespoke tailor, i.e. a couple of English blokes who measure yo properly, cut and stitch your suit in the shop and give you three fittings, try mine, Sims and MacDonald in Lambs COnduit Street. c.£700 for a suit.
Many, if not all of the others mentioned above are fronts for factory operations that adjust semi-off-the-peg suits outside the UK.

Ah, it seems bespoke is the key word here. I now understand the difference between this and mtm, so thanks for the tip.

This sounds like a bargain considering the difference in service. If anyone else has another bespoke suggestion I'd appreciate it, otherwise I'll go with this one.
Thanks guys.

Spent the last couple of hours ordering my suit from Sims and MacDonald. Went for black with an ultra fine purple pinstripe and matching lining, quite minimal styling. Will be a few fittings to get it spot on over the next 6 to 8 weeks. Should look the nuts.

780 in the end. The staff were pretty helpful as you'd expect. I spent over an hour selecting material samples, then another hour discussing styling options, with the help of magazines and suits in stock. Measuring up only took 5 minutes at this stage. Overall it was quite good fun. It helped having my mate there to bounce ideas off. He also found a material he fancied, so will get a suit too. Turns out his material was pricey, so his will be 900.
I already have some nice shirts for ties. Now I need some tailored shirts for wearing with an open collar. I forgot to ask if they do these. May pop into Emmett again as well. Any shirt reccommendations?

I've got ten suits, two coats, DJ and morning suit from Sims & MacD. Been going there for ten years, so you could say I'm happy.
Emmett is good for casual shirts, but for work shirts, I go to Budd in Prince's Arcade between Picadilly and Jermyn Street (Picadilly end). They are the only shirtmakers who still make on the premises.
