Ebay log in verification

Despite never having a problem logging into my eBay account over the years, I now suddenly can't log in and need to phone them, but I'm not sure which country the number is in and how much the call will cost? Not sure if my laptops VPN is to blame but it's always set to UK and I've never had a problem previously.

Anyone else ever got this same message?

Sometimes get a text message to my mobiile with a link to verify the logon, only if logging on from a diffenrtt device

I think there should be a 0 in front of the number: 0208 610 0157

Never had that message, if logging from a different computer ebay normally texts a code.

That looks dodgy to me.

Number is legit. If you search the original format it gets mentioned in threads on the eBay community pages.

I've now managed to bypass the verification process, seems it was my VPN causing the issue. I paused the VPN and was able to log in. I then turned it back on and I remained logged in.

Ebay can kiss my ass. Having exactly the same issue, but no vpn running. They want to send me a security email, it never arrives. I'm trying to update my phone number but of course can't as it also wants to send security verification, to my old number. Argh! Any ideas?

Which device are you checking for the security email? If I check the spam folder on my Android phone I often find messages that never reach my laptop or PC. I did just now and found two messages that were 'safe'.

Had a similar annoyance at the weekend, went to put a last second bid on an item only for ebay to decide I wasn't logged in and also needed to two factor authenticate. Obviously the text didn't arrive before the item had finished so I lost my chance to bid.
