A small group of friends and I are looking to head out this weekend for a drive. Some of motorbikes and others in nice cars. Can anyone recommend a good breakfast venue to head to, preferably with decent parking? We’re coming from Chelmsford/Witham area.

the Maldon Museum of Power is quite a pleasant place with a decent tea-room...

This place is also not unpleasant

Tarkas cafe at Baythorne End near Halstead is good, but I suggest you check opening times

There's a new café at Oak Corner between Danbury and Maldon on the A414 called The Tin Roof Café - owned by the same bloke who owns the Red Lion and Blue Strawberry in Boreham. It's properly nice. Enter in through the Garden Centre entrance.

You then have the roads of the Dengie to enjoy afterwards.

Yep. That's the one.

Just back from a little video shoot at The Black Pig Cafe in Chigborough, near Heybridge. Didn't eat anything but looks amazing and has a very good reputation.

Next door to Preti Patel's office though, who turned up while I was there smile

A few suggestions there, anyone actually tried any of them?
Any feedback, good or bad?

Parlour-cafe is ok; just challenging to get to; the last mile..ish isn't that accessible nor wide.

The Tin Roof Café in between Maldon and Danbury is superb. One of the best breakfasts I've had actually!

I found it ok with the below - though to be fair there are two roads to get there, one of which isn't great...

Called in the parlour cafe today for coffee and cakes, all nice enough, clean and not expensive.
Yes, the road in is narrow but ok
We haven't been to that part of Essex for a while so didn't realise how built up Maldon has become.
Anyway, a good recommendation, thanks
Now to try the Tin Roof Cafe.

if you pick a good time of day, taking the "Burnham Bends" to the Cabin Dairy is great.

More of a biker haunt but the drive there can be great fun, and the breakfasts are nice.

Black Pig Cafe is local to us. Lovely food and a good spot.
It gets popular now so parking is in the cinder square opposite by the the tin sheds rather than right outside.
