Is there a member in the truck rental business or international removals/haulage business?

I'm ex road haulage, what are you looking to achieve?

I’m ex haulage also.
I want to move from France back to UK for a sensible cost.

£10,000 is not sensible.

I see your issue. The only thing I can suggest is a Eastern European operator but finding the right one probably won't be easy

Depending on what and how much, it could be cheaper to get a big wooden box crate and contact a haulier such as Simarco (UK based but do an international pallet network type thing) and they will ship back to a UK address, sort out customs etc.

Probably still going to be C.£700, but probably by far the cheapest route.

I do UK & Euro car transport, not quite what you are after, unless it was just some big stuff I could put in an enclosed car transporter.

Yeh removals is lots of £ even just UK I was shocked recently on a move quote.

Would a container work? far more reasonable price wise.

Sell your stuff in France. Drive back to UK. Buy replacement stuff from FBMP for pennies. £10k saved.

Try posting on a Expat forum, chances are you'll get a empty wagon coming back from a drop that might be cheaper.
