Hi

Considering a K7 to replace a small Bosch pressure that’s just packed up.

Anyone got one? Any good?

Wondering if they’re better enough than the k4/k5 that are a lot cheaper. Looking at the stats it should clean an area in half the time of the k4?

It will be for cleaning of terraces/pool area of around 100m2.

Cheers

No complaints from my K4, you don't want anything lesser from Karcher as they are air cooled and plaster impeller.

Had a marcher pressure washer which I really hadn’t used a huge amount but it gave up the ghost/had expensive repair estimate. Bought a Stihl RE140. Much better made…and having the reel on top so the hose is easy to pack away felt like a revelation after wrestling with the Karcher hose.

Thanks. I’ve got a k4 at home in the uk and it’s pretty good. Just wondering if it’s worth the extra cash to get a k7 for the bigger area to save time

Mine broke after about 3 hours use (over a couple of years). It was supposed to be an upgrade on a B&Q no brand one I'd had for about 10 years.

I replaced it with a Nilfisk which is much better.

On the plus side I stripped the Karcher for parts and sold them on ebay getting back most of what I paid.

Do a search in the this sub forum going back a few weeks. There was a massive thread on them when 95% of the owners admitted they were garbage and would never have another. Karcher are made of cheese now and have been for at least the past decade.

I have a K7- its about 5 years old. Has enough poke at full chat to take the paint off things and chew the surface of soft paving slabs... Have used it quite a bit (as a DIYer not a pro)

Fairly fragile plasticky in places but if you take care of it it seems ok.

For small / domestic areas like that a Karcher is probably OK but FWIW most Germans I know don't rate Karcher any more, preferring Makita or maybe Bosch.

Thanks- that’s opened up a can of worms as hadn’t considered other brands!

That’s the issue with the Bosch. About 2-3 years old and only a couple of hours use

I’ve had K7 for several years Woking it every week doing varied jobs at the large private house I maintain, with no issues. This includes a large area of York stone paving which is cleaned twice a year.

My k7 is brilliant. I tried my dads k5 and the k7 makes it feel like you've just traded your bmw in for a 106 1.1 with a dodgy clutch.

I mean the k5 does a job, but the k7 really does a job and fast

Good question, at the time it was the most powerful unit I could get at that price point - I suspect now there is more option and a company that has to rely on a good product rather than a brand name might make something better?! I dont regret buying mine.

Update-

Bought a k7 this morning.

Pressure washed two terraces in half the time or less that it would have taken me using the k4 I have in the uk.

Nice and powerful. Worth every euro.

However, time saved washing is spent trying to untangle/reel the damn hose!

Happy days.

Lets us know how its going in five years time, and we can maybe put to bed the suggestion that a £40 K2 is representative of the live expectancy of a £500 pressure washer from the same brand.

Maybe?
