Just purchased a 2012 Panda 4x4 as my commuter car for here in rural Cumbria, great little thing, perfect for the job. It does have a little issue, easily fixed if I knew something. The 12V socket and the USB socket near the gear level are dead. I think the fuses are below the steering column, but how do I remove the cover?

Many thanks in advance.

Mine is a 2017 model and the secondary fuse panel is located behind a easily opened flap within the glovebox

Many thanks. For some reason I thought it was below the steering column.

Having bought it you realise you'll never part with it now don't you? biggrin

Absolutely! This is the second one, my wife had one, only changed it when her commute went up to 160 miles. This one is for local stuff, my commute is 27 miles round trip, mostly single lane rural/farm roads. Panda is perfect for this.

TA or Multijet flavoured?

Multijet. I tried a TA and it was horrible, sounded dreadful. Done 250 miles now and fuel tank shows half. Not bad for a 35 litre tank.

Seems like a good one, looking at the tyres is always a good indicator, this one has 4 good Michelin Cross-climates.

...is the correct answer IMHO too smile

They always look good in the 4x4 green. I can't imagine anything stopping us getting where we want to go.

The battery was changed shortly before purchased it. The milometer is now flashing on and off, any ideas on how to get it to remain on?

Agreed, Tuscany green (IIRC) and JTD is the perfect combo.

Thanks. Looks like the B&M module is probably dead, will unplug and see what happens.

Had this on my Giulietta Cloverleaf and it was the B&M Ecu/Module thing, replaced it and the problem went away.

It seems so, B&M not functional.

Removed B&M, need to reset the odometer control to stop it flashing, replaced the radio with a generic cheap (£35) BT and touchscreen unit, even has a reverse camera. It also has Car Play and Android Auto, yet to set it up with my phone.

I am considering buying one of these. Probably to replace one or both of my current cars.

Does anyone have any advice, please, about things to look out for? And experiences (good and bad).

Thanks, any input much appreciated.

They're charming little cars and will get under your skin, so beware...

Things to look for?
Clutch/dmf. An expensive change on either engine (£nearly 1300 on my diesel) Life is very variable.
The diesel is bombproof, the TA less so (albeit some swear by the latter, I know)
Drivetrain vibration is often due to degradation of the driveshaft bearing, little change out of £400.
Can be prone to electrical gremlins, usually a new battery sorts them.
After that, the usual suspension wear, but parts are cheap, as are tyres.
Seat bolster prone to cracking, can be re-upholstered in a matching leather by any auto trimmer.

Winter pack is highly desirable extra, worth seeking out. Wish I had.

The Twin Air is a really engaging little engine, but only really does about 30mpg.

Wheel nuts corrode very easily but obviously a simple fix

Regret selling mine and will be buying another at some stage…
