Wife's much loved X2 2.0i Sport is now past 5 years old and has nearly 50,000 trouble free miles under its belt. Fast, economical and a joy to drive she thought about another X2 but after a visit to the showroom - no way. The new car is awkwardly styled and most of the 'toys' like uprated sound system are now gone - or an expensive option. Never thought I would say this but after at least 15 BMWs bought new - looks like bye bye. Options include looking at demo run out models or visiting the Tesla garage to look at a Model Y. I've had my Model 3 for 2 years and am delighted with it.

The X2 might be awkwardly styled but the Tesla certainly isn’t any better

Not only is the new X2 hideous but the price is mind bogglingly ludicrous.

I'm a big BMW fan but I thought the original X2 was a turd so the new one can't be much worse.

Look at the rear diffuser and the unnecessary overstyling. The original X2 is based on the Mini platform so the new Countryman is worth a look.

I had one as a courtesy car for a couple of weeks while my 330 was in for warranty repair. How do BMW make a car so large on the outside so small and cramped on the inside? The passenger compartment is cramped, I can get more luggage in the boot of a 3 series saloon, and the 3 rides better.

The X2 appears to be an X1 that's been squashed a bit for the sake of 'style', but lost any element of practicality that was present in the X1. It's like Mercedes making the GLC 'Coupe' - the huge footprint of a regular GLC but with the boot slashed down so that it can barely take two small suitcases.... WHY????

Definately... my mate has just bought a new model Countryman JCW with 300bhp and some options and it was around £43k... and its really nice inside if a bit boxy outside.

£43k.......prices are nuts ,I was lucky enough to buy a new F30 30d in 2014 ,I would have no chance now and I just could not justify the price even if I could . Once my 335d is done I am sure I will not be in a BMW again.
