Occasional fault on G30 530d x drive touring with adaptive suspension which I presume is a sensor - fault comes up as ‘chassis - you can continue driving’ and disappears after a few minutes. Have booked it in to main dealer to check. But interested if anyone else has this fault.

Also - suspension is surprisingly ‘crashy’ over our appalling rural roads - I know roads are rubbish in UK but actually sets my teeth on edge, even in comfort. May be runflats or maybe there is another suspension fault. Keen to hear other people’s experiences.

Had the same on my G31. Not adaptive, but the rear suspension of the G31 has air suspension as standard. Had the same fault, and the rear was down on its bump stops on both sides. The ride was horrendous! You could hear the air compressor kick in, but the suspension wouldn't lift.

BMW wanted circa £2k to fix including a new compressor, but a common fault of the compressor is for the air release solenoid to get stuck open. It's a 5 minute job to change the solenoid, which costs £20, and however long needed to dry out the dessicant (if needed at all).

Is your suspension low? If so, is it on one side or both?

Thanks - slightly low perhaps but not on bump stops and still with a gap between when and arch on level ground. Not sure I can hear the compressor though.

Latest in this is that the dealer is stumped and has suggested to replace airbags and compressor for £5k to see if that fixes it. No obvious sign of it leaking air or being lopsided. Warning light comes on after half an hour or so, then goes off when I slow down to an almost standstill, then reappears. Any thoughts??

Please could someone help me identify the correct part for the compressor solenoid? I see a lot of F-series solenoids for sale but none for the G31.
