I'm off to Switzerland in August.

If I buy a vignette at the border should I be able to pay with a credit card?

I'm just transiting through so if card use is normal I'd prefer not to have any cash, is that feasible
Thanks

You can buy it online nowadays, then no need to have cash at the border... Customs people usually used very bad exchange rates!
See this website https://www.ch-vignette.com/en/

Hi there

You can indeed by online
The cost is the same 40CHF

The official link is :
https://via.admin.ch/shop/dashboard

The link posted before is an unofficial business charging 44CHF and might or might not give you a valid Vignette.

Please note that the electronic version is based on your number plate whilst the original paper is covering the vehicule it is being stuck to.
You can see here different outcomes if you change car or registration plate during a calendar year.

Have a good trip

Just bought mine at the border.... customes warned me of false web-sites offering these, gave me a visiting card with the correct one!
The correct one is
www.e-vignette.ch
and is available in various languages....
