...OK, someone posted on ferrarichat.com that petrol stations in Derby were out of fuel ahead of the blockades this coming week, so I nipped out & filled up my van and my car (in North London) and the Shell garage did seem very busy for a Sunday night. Told my staff with company vans to do the same, one of them said other people were also "panic buying" in Enfield.

Now I've posted this here have I helped perpetuate widespread panic ?

Think i'll do the exact opposite and not bother.

I've got 3 -4 days worth in total for both cars and if that gets used, i stay at home

Seems like the 'Protest Organisers' reckon they're going to extend the protests (motorway go slows...refinery blockades) from this coming wednesday thru' to friday.

Yep you can never be too careful.

Best get a dozen 50-litre jerrycans stacked up in the airing cupboard as well eh?

No hang on can't do that it's full of bread and bog rolls...

There was a huge queue when I came out of work today. Not sure whether it was because of pannic buying of just old biddies that couldn't work the "fast lane" pumps.

If it comes to anything (which I very much doubt) then I will lose a dramatic amount of weight cycling the 22 mile round trip to work and back each day.

Maybe not such a bad thing then

Well, I for one hope the truckers do get somewhere, rather than being hamstrung by the govt. I know the army can now be drafted in to drive the tankers, but hopefully enough direct action will get (at least a temporary) reduction on the fuel duties.

I sort of supoport the blockades as fuel prices are ridicuously high now, and of course its about the only way the Government has any likliehood of getting a bloody nose.

So get filling and cause chaos!

The 20-litre ones are easier to carry & fit in car boots better. Machine Mart had a decent stock in on Saturday, although sales were apparently "brisk"

Oh, you were being sarcastic....

I noticed tonight on my way in to Ipswich that the local Tesco was selling unleaded at 90.9p - 2p cheaper than anywhere else in Ippy. I thought it was a mistake, but it was the real deal.

Needless to say I took immediate advantage and brimmed my car. The queues were't too bad either - when I left the forecourt only one car was queuing for a vacant pump.
