Should Ferrari cancel Hamilton’s contract and promote Bearman to the F1 seat for 2025?

It would not be a popular move but it has happened before that a new employee’s contract is cancelled before the employee starts.

Hamilton is coming to the end of his career but Oliver is just starting. Hamilton costs big bucks but Oliver initially will be a lot cheaper and is the future.

If they are not careful Ferrari will lose Oliver to another team.

Agreed.

I'm not happy about Hamilton coming to my team, but the talk of Ferrari also throwing money at Newey etc to join shows they are trying to go in the right direction.

Bearman had a great race, but wait until he comes under pressure from the Tifosi and the team, that will show how good he is.

I let them know myself at a recent Scuderia Ferrari event in London, was about 70 of us in attendance and the majority shared the same opinion.

Are you the one who said he was going to throw all of his old model cars away in protest?

£200 million to pay up the contract of a multiple world champion and the most successful driver in the history
of formula one to sign a lad who's driven in one race.

What could possibly go wrong?

Do you work for SKY or BBC.

The absolute hysteria from them around Bearman is ridiculous.

He had an okay race.

Was in the 2nd fastest car and came 7th which would have been barely top 10 if it wasn't for the safety car.

Yet these fools want to give him the 2024/5 WDC.

Get a grip

rofl

Bet they're devastated.

Sounds utterly tragic. Was it held on a school playground?

Yep, it was reasonable and that was all, contrast that with George's stand in race in the Merc for example...

If/when Bearman gets to F1, he would probably be at Haas for a while in place of Hulk or KMag, until a space opens up at Ferrari.

For me it is more that Hamilton doesn't seem to have a lot of fire these days - maybe the move will reinvigorate him, and he probably thinks you can't finish in F1 without having a go in the red car, but at the moment I'm not sure it is the best signing for Ferrari.

He finished last season within 2 wins of Perez who was driving one of the most dominant cars in F1 history and the Merc was arguably the not even the second or third best car.
