I locked my car and left it on the drive yesterday. Today I went and and saw that both windows were completely open.

I cant work out how the windows could have opened on their own unless there has been some kind security attack (but then there is nothing missing from the car).

Many thanks, you are very correct.
I did not know about this function. I guess this is a security risk for me. I wonder if it can be turned off.

BMWs have had that feature since at least the E46, but if you hold the lock button they all close as well!

I left my 2007 123d with all 4 windows open all night once. eek

Luckily it didn't rain, but now I just make sure everything is closed.

Don't know about your specific model but you can generally code those features out or adjust them with an OBD reader half decent app/software.

We had a convertible that fully opened and closed the roof too with this function.

I'm a nightmare sometimes when out shopping, "did I lock the car?" - check the app, all good.

Except the rear flaps on the coupe, which open in the key but don't close.

I have the widget which tells you "ALL GOOD" so you don't have to open the app.

I've just got an E46 coupe and discovered the same thing with the rear flaps.

My garage is a bit tight, so I generally hold the unlock to lower the windows, makes it easier to get in. I might just be checking stuff, so will close everything on the key again, except those rear flaps!
