Nightmare retrofitting microphone to Pro HU with bluetooth

Just posting this as a last ditch effort to get some help as i keep hitting a dead end elsewhere.
I purchased a bluetooth enabled professional hu to replace the business unit in my 1 series. Im reading varying different stories on how to fit a microphone to it as my car currently doesn’t have one. The bluetooth is integrated into the unit there is no combox.
I read this is a straight forward job but i am finding other wise…my car has a different style quadlock connector on the loom to all the cars shown on the guides which doesnt help. So the microphone I purchased doesnt fit. I stupidly depinned the connector and ended up snapping a pin in the quadlock box so am slightly effed now unless i can fish out the pin somehow.
Im not entirely convinced ive gone about this correctly so i just wanted to know has any successfuly managed to retrofit a microphone, if so how and did it require coding as im getting conflicting stories.
Im on the verge if giving up and paying somewhere to fit a mic but all car audio stores i find want to charge a fortune to just look at the car and if course they wont be familiar with coding, plus its an oem unit so not sure they’ll be able to do it….so if anyone can recommend anyone who is capable of such jobs in Surrey / Hampshire id be massively grateful!
