Turbotechnics do a supercharger conversion and i think BBR to a turbo conversion.

I know the supercharger conversion you are looking at around £6500 fitted from TT

Yeah it is a bit steep but then thats what you get and if you are a semi competent DIY mechanic you could try it yourself parts come to around £2500.

I looked into doing it but have not really got the space

I had a TT kit ...youd be surprised just how much work is involved to fit it....its NOT just a case of bolting a supercharger on at all.

Very expensive - £9K for 230bhp...you can put a whole new engine in there for that - Duratec, Audi, or Honda

For the TT you are looking at:

ECU
forged pistons
forged shortened rods
port n polished big valve head
fast road cams
Supercharger
intercooler - rad mounted at front, fit a seperate water header tank + pipework into sills (clam off job)
custom inlet manifold
oil cooler + pipework
4-2-1, and CRP

so basically you are paying about 7-10 days labour for a bottom and top end rebuild before you even start fitting the SC and intercooler set-up.

No longer economical to do now..shame because it was a great conversion and came with a 2 year warranty.

If you want more power then its generally only cost effective (unless you are an engine builder yourself) to goto 180bhp aspirated on the K series,...if you want more than that, and want it to be reliable then change the engine.

I personally would stick with N/A as bogie says it is the best way.

Me and my mates have the resources and knowledge and skill to do it but its just too much money on parts and space really while its being done

Now i'm confused...
This quote came from Ozzer on the www.exiges.com forum...

My main dealer told me today that the 240r SC is just bolted on to the engine with no added or modified valves, cams, rods. They don't remove the head or nothing...the engine is standard. The SC is just bolted on and the ECU reworked.

Thats because they are 2 different engines !

The TT kit was for the Rover K series engined cars....taking a 120bhp engine to 230bhp requires a lot of work.

The kit Ozzer is on about is for the new Toyota engined cars - it bolts on about 50bhp to the 190bhp engine...just SC, intercooler, remap

Oh, that's good news for me as i'm looking out in the future to sell my honda s2000 and buy myself an exige S2 with toyota engine.
I won't have much spare change left after done that but then just an SC bolted on should be much cheaper right?
What price am i looking at?

no-one knows just yet - around £6K from Lotus is the estimate...nothing is cheap on these cars

...or you could always "do a bogie" and spend a similar amount getting an SC'd Honda in an S2 Elise or S1 Exige 'mule' and have a rocketship for similar money.

or buy a car ready done - theres an 8K mile S2 for sale with 300bhp SC Honda, suspension, brakes etc...everything sorted...advertised at £30K, but youd probably get it a bit cheaper.

So new/nearly new S2111R or S2 300bhp Honda ...your choice

All fine when you live in the UK but i live in Belgium with the steering wheel at the other side and lotus elises are like rare to see here let alone a honda conversion.
But i'll wait for a while and see what else lotus has in store for us in the coming 6 months or so.
