Hi chaps, looking for pointers on this one.

For some reason the S has no indicators working. The hazards work fine so all the bulbs and wiring must be ok. Do the indicators run off a seperate relay? If so, I think I must be limited to either a duff relay or indicator switch? Any thoughts?

The rear disco lights are working fine too.

Hi Phil

According to the wiring diagram the flasher unit is shared between the hazards and the indicators so I don't think it is the unit itself.

Check the feed is working as I think they are seperate, the hazards aren't switched through the ignition whereas the indicators are. I would start with that - have you checked the fuses? I think the cigarette lighter runs off the same fuse as the indicators.

Could also be the indicator switch itself or the block connector to the column switch it can get pretty cruddy.

colin, thats really helpful mate. I dont have the wiring diagram as the bible is in the boot of the car and the car is some way away from me! Right, so the relay is just one, leaving either a wiring fault or the switch itself. :scracthchin: Me thinks best place to start is the switch....

Will let you know how I get on.

Hello,

The indicators are powered off of the same feed as the instruments, oil, amps etc are these all working. If they are then at least you can discount the fuse.

Hi guys, seems the problem is a faulty switch so when the car is back with us I'll give the connectors a good clean up. Ta for the advice
