I'd been thinking of swapping my leggy 2019 840d x-drive for another newer one when I spotted the perfect colour/spec in the local BMW dealership. So, long story short, I picked it up on 14th Feb. It's a 2021 840d x-drive thats only done 10k miles - its like new inside/outside.

Anyway, had a hospital appointment on the 16th Feb - just 2 days later. Now, I tend to park as far away from other cars as I can whenever in public car parks. There was plenty of room that day and I parked right in the corner, no other car near at all. Came out 2 hours later and noticed this. No note, nothing. Some tt just grazed past and left me with a right fking mark. Not one to compound out.

Booked it into the local bodyshop and, to be fair, they've done a really lovely job. Picked it up today, was a bit more than I wanted to pay at £250, but I'm happy to support a local business. Expensive hospital visit though.

I would have thought on the evidence of that pic alone, it looks more like a wall-graze as it looks to have been done against a sharp/ragged surface rather than a smooth car.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw it, but it wasn't there when I picked the car up, and I'd not been near any walls at all.

The main reason I'm hankering after a 440 and not an 840 is that the 840 is so bloody big that I could guarantee that either someone would hit it with something or I'd hit something with it. Beautiful cars though.

Same reason I was put off an 8 series…they’re almost too big for the UK car parks frown
