Might be just Musky BS, and no doubt this will be with a 1 foot rollout or whatever, but - IMHO that's too fast for the public road.

Without doing the maths that's about 30m/s^2 or 3g... I call complete BS although I very much hope I'm wrong! Conversely passengers will be very glad it's BS because I honestly think that would make most people puke. 0-60 in 2.5 seconds is bad enough.

Had a go in an IPace earlier, not been in a moderately powerful EV for a while, thats plenty vigorous enough from a standstill, the power race is getting a bit silly now, Lucid have the Air "Sapphire" thats faster than the Tesla Plaid with over 200 bhp more at 1234 bhp vs 1020.

There's a big difference between a design target and a attribute test result.

No one cares about 0-60.... people want solid 400+mile range with lower battery degradation and better cold weather range.... over to you musk.

It’s not like Musk lives in reality.

It'd have to have active downforce of some sort, such as small thrusters pushing it downward, or a fan sucking it down.

Yep, full tank in 10 minutes and 400 mile range, and all major components last more than 20 years. Couldn't give a st about a car being 0.5 seconds to 60. Oh, and it sounds good. Not like Pole Position.

Car and Driver tested the Lucid recently and said even in Endurance mode (750bhp) it was 5sec faster than the next fastest EV! Suppose to be 6sec faster than the model S plaid on the same track.

Looks to be some machine especially when compared to the mess of the EV6.

Do agree the power is just silly now. Can see laws being made to limit power coming into effect in the next 2-3 years.

It’s a load of crap. 1 million HP, but has 7 mins at full tilt. End of the day people buy into marketing, and there’s nothing interesting in the driving experience so the manufacturers revert to performance stats, when nobody really cares. Makes little difference to a daily car.

Dodge Challenger SRT Demon does 0-60 in 1.6 seconds. I'm sure if he really does add some kind of gimpish SpaceX package it'll do 1 second runs until the propellant runs out.

Musk is still a dick though.

I wouldn’t want any space X tech, might get a little bit toasty inside wink
