Enough already.

We're all game for a bit of a laugh, but this constant stream of useless posts has to stop.

If you perpetuate it, or reply 'amusingly' to threads with a 'problem' then you'll be in the sin-bin.

This sticky is so that no-one has the excuse that 'they weren't warned', 'I didn't see the warning posts' etc.etc. blah blah blah.

Sticky will stay for a couple of days until people grow up a bit.

Sin-bin isn't a ban, think of it as a suspension where you only have access to one forum (the sin-bin itself). Once you've done your 'time' (no fixed duration) you get let out.

Then again, the rate they're going in there, PH may be a good few members short before long!

Any chance we outsiders can have viewing acess to the sinbin to see what its like? surely that'd put most of us off silly posts?

How's the sin bin work? I see guys posting on P&P quite normally, just with 'Sin Bin' under their name.

That means the member is binned, they havent contributed since being binned its just that the binning is associated with the user profile.

Like to see the rule covering this one!

I will try not to reply 'amusingly' (shouldn't have too much trouble with this one)- could be a bit dull if everyone replying in an amusing way is banned tho'.

I think we should be able to see what's going on in the sinbin, like a window into a lunatic asylum.

I've tried to refrain from posting so far, but I can't told back any longer.

What happened earlier was close to anarchy with a group of people swamping the forums with crap and only one moderator around to try to maintain order.

He did what was necessary - cull out the noise and stop it from coming back by blocking (ie. sin-binning) all the parties concerned.

Given that the moderator concerned didn't have time to keep an eye on things full-time (as he was at work and had an employer breathing down his neck) this was probably the only viable response.

This is nothing to do with stopping a bit of fun, this is about protecting PetrolTed's livihood in his absence.

Close to anarchy eh?

Still seems a bit heavy handed to me - still, what do I know?

When you hit "What's New" and the first page is almost exclusively bogus threads then I'd say that the concept of Gassing Station had ceased to be working. Ok, perhaps anarchy is the wrong word, but it was the best I could come up with.

What do you mean by bogus threads? Have I missed something? I've just got in from work.
Replying amusingly? A bit vague. Does that mean any humour gets sin-binned?

This morning there was something of a crap flood, where people started making lost of meaningless posts.

The mods understandably got rather annoyed at this and took action.

I think you've got to allow a bit of drivel in the P&P.
If every topic was serious I think the P&P would be nowhere near as active as it is.
Maybe Pistonheads should create a new forum that acts like a chat room. Then, if you don't like that sort of thing, you don't go in there.

Not trying to cause any arguments, just a thought.

This'll go just as well in this thread...

[whistling wind][drums, flute, brass-stabs]

This place (for-um) is coming like a ghost town
All the threads are being closed down
This place (for-um) is coming like a ghost town
Ted won't play no more
Too much fighting and frivolity

{laaa la lalaaa la lala la lala la lala}

Do you remember the good old days before the "suspects"
We moaned and griped and the old skool typed in cliquey circles

This place (for-um) is coming like a ghost town
When you see them joking amongst themself
This place (for-um) is coming like a ghost town
No jokes to be found in this forum
Can't go on no more
The mods are getting angry
