Importing a car from Europe to the UK

Hello! I’m wanting to buy a car from Europe (Denmark) and bring it back to the UK. My idea is to fly out there and drive it all the way back.
Has anybody done similar before? I’m wanting to know what the process is for doing so- what do I need to do insurance wise etc to be able to drive it from Denmark to the UK?
Any help would be massively appreciated!
