Overtaking On Slip Road Joining Motorway Lines Blanked Out?
Discussion
I regularly overtake on 2-lane slip roads onto motorways & I drive a Leon with 'only' 150hp. Too many drivers try to join the motorway at too slow a speed & I have no wish to be reduced to their too slow, & unsafe, speed.
Occassionslly I have stayed in the inside lane of the slip road to pass a car driving slowly in the RH lane.

Not sure I quite understand the question, but if there isn't dividing lines on the slip road, I would suggest that is a single (Albeit potentially wide) carriageway and hence overtaking would be unsafe....? i.e. the person being overtaken is highly unlikely to expect an overtaking vehicle passing them at close quarters...?
Personally I wouldn't.....the exception maybe if following a very slow vehicle or one behaving erratically, at which point I need to put my own safety first and ensure I could join the motorway at a safe speed.

Well someone did it to me and I wasn’t expecting it at all. As I said the white lines were blanked out although you could see that they used to be there.
I honked my horn thinking he shouldn’t have done that and he over took and then suddenly put his brakes on causing me to do the same.
As we emerged onto the motorway I pulled out to overtake and he was leant out of his window looking back at me giving the wan@er sign. I passed him and carried on as normal and left him in the distance.

Well yes you’re certainly right on that one, people really need to match the speed of the cars that are already on the motorway in order to merge safely!Occassionslly I have stayed in the inside lane of the slip road to pass a car driving slowly in the RH lane.
