Legacy 3.0R Spec B Shocks/Dampers

Hi All.

The front dampers on my car need to be replaced. The ones on my car already are yellow (possibly the B6 or B8 type).

I understand from Bilstein that the OE ones are the B4 type which I note from their website are black. These are cheaper than the B6 or B8.

Can someone please confirm that the black B4 type dampers are OE spec please? I've seen on other threads that other owners have the yellow dampers fitted to their cars.

I remember the ones on mine were yellow but don't know it that actually means anything performance wise. I managed to source a used set on Ebay which was considerably cheaper than buying new and lasted the rest of the cars time with me. Might be an option.

I decided to buy a used front pair of dampers, springs and top mounts after all.

Sorry for the late reply on this. There might be some hearsay involved too...

When I spoke to bilstein about OEM availability and if they were doing a run I ended up taking to a tech who believed they were specifically valved for Subaru. Between B4 and B6 somewhere.

Due to the ludicrous price on a set, I ended up just using B6.
