Scenic Car Tour/IOM/ Festival of Motoring

Been before....... I.O.M. is a nice place to visit, I stayed in Ramsey, didn't bother with the Gala Dinner, highlights for me were the Sloc closed road run and Mountain Course closed road run although the latter was done as a convoy and was slow because the lead cars were over cautious due to rain.

Thanks for that,we’re also giving the gala dinner a swerve,we’ll already be full in the Noble with 6 days of coats/shorts due the unpredictable weather so no chance of a Dinner suit and ball gown.Doing pretty much else though,Pie in the sky via tram, fun run,Tt course,Sloc,Jurby etcWeather will either make it or break it !
I went last year for American show and going again this year. Iv not booked for the actual event but booked my own ferry/hotel etc for 5 days over there.
Used to go for the TT many years ago but it’s an expensive do now this trip last year was perfect.
I didn’t get the closed road events but still go for a nice drive speed limit free on the NSL roads. Still went to the static meets, the one on Douglas front was good as there was also a food and drink festival on at the pavilion on the same day.
Went over to the motor museum meet just paid my own entry etc and went to the Jurby track sessions but it started to rain heavy so I didn’t go on, just arrive and pay £70 I think it was for 20 mins sessions.
I enjoy the island in general, mrs had never been so did some sight seeing stuff. She has a horse so had a morning at the home of rest horse sanctuary, did a morning quad biking which was great fun! Had a day round Peel and the castle the same day as the event had a run out and meet there. Was just a nice week away. People seem much more relaxed and friendly compared to the carnage of our city’s and the M6.
