Only putting this in this Goodwood Events section as I expect Sarah will read it, and hopefully we will get Goodwood's view on it.

Due to some idle browsing, I came across the following page on the Goodwood web site.

https://www.goodwood.com/motorsport/members-meetin...

The implication being that JD Classics are endorsed, recommened or celebrated by Goodwood.
I was somewhat surprised, as it is well know that JD Classics were involved in a recent fraud case.

Before, this gets taken down as alleged defamation, judgement has been made as evidenced here https://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/Comm/2020/284...
Though I believe other cases may still be on going.
I realise that the JDC name was aquired by Woodham Mortimer, who for some strange reason, then tried to resurrect the JDC name despite its poor record.

I note that the JDC link has actually been removed from the partners' page https://www.goodwood.com/motorsport/members-meetin... but remains as above. Maybe it is a error and should have been removed.

The 'strangeness' continues, as the Woodham Mortimer site still has the 1000 Miglia graphic, even though they were told not to be associated with the event.

Does Goodwood want to be associated with these people?

Unless there has been further developments I am not aware of, isn't this old news?

The fraud is very much old news... the question was only raised as by chance I came across Goodwood still mentioning them as partners (though I suspect from an old link embedded in their site)

I had also noticed that JDC were back again. I live quite close to the old JDC site in Maldon and followed the case with interest - not the financial side, more about the cars. Woodham Mortimer (the name makes me chuckle as it's a village between my house and JDC's old place) have appeared at Revival in the past showing their restorative skills. I believe they retained a lot of the skilled staff from JDC. After JDC Maldon closed up, the New Name appeared at a new site in Chelmsford. A couple of years ago (at most) they changed their name to..........guess what? JD Classics (A Woodham Mortimer Company). They have hosted a few Open Days and breakfast meets recently in fact the TVR Club were invited last year, although I didn't attend.

So, I think maybe they are back, all legal etc and part of the Goodwood theme.

From recent advertising it seems they're now the distributors for Bensport cars too.

Update on the Woodham Mortimer / JD Classics Situation / Mo Nico Consari

A hearing took place on 7th May, and an interim judgment by HHJ Siddique is expected shortly.

Here's the background: Mo Consari took control of Woodham Mortimer Ltd, but after a period of mismanagement, the company went into administration around April/May 2024. He then bought it back through a pre-pack deal for roughly £100,000, leaving behind millions in company debts, and began trading under the new entity JD Classics Autos Ltd.

Within months, history repeated itself — JD Classics Autos Ltd also went into administration in January 2025.

Key facts include:

- Selling a Bentley La Sarthe (owned by BenSport Ltd) to James Martin (the TV chef) and keeping the proceeds

- Pre-selling multiple La Sarthes (approx. $1.5 million worth) without ever building or commissioning them

Working closely with David Chandler, a known fraudster who was jailed for 8 years in 2018 for similar car scams (Daily Mail article: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5894669/D...

BenSport Ltd, who had been storing some of Consari’s vehicles, refused to release any cars until they were paid £450,000 or so for the Bentley he sold and profited from. Now incredibly, Consari is taking legal action to try and force the release of those cars without committing to paying a single penny to BenSport Ltd for their La Sarthe he sold — and that’s what the current case is about.

This case raises serious concerns for anyone who has dealt with Woodham Mortimer, JD Classics, or Consari in recent years. Watch this space.
