Afternoon all, I’m looking for an auto body place, preferably in Nottingham or nearby to sort a few little bits on my E46. Does anyone have any recommendations for somewhere that they have used before? Some before and after pictures would be ideal too! Thanks.

Larklands motor company, Manners Industrial Estate, Ilkeston, top quality workmanship, not the cheapest but you won't be disappointed, check their website for Reviews etc.

If they are the people who do Land Rovers for Stratstone Nottingham, and I think they are, I wouldn't use them again.

They did a lot of work on one of my Range Rovers a while back. It was so bad that Stratstone themselves tried to bid me in the nuts for the car at trade in, solely on the basis of the paintwork quality. I pointed out that it was they who'd sent my car there and a red-faced sales manager reviewed upwards his offer!

Might avoid them in that case then, thank you!

Not sure where in Notts you are, but T Lofley & Son Bodyworks in Shirebrook have done 2 jobs on my E91 in the last year, and will be doing the roof at some point near summer. Very good value, and superb jobs done.

These guys:

http://www.autobodytec.co.uk/ in Sandiacre.

Very small shop. Been around for ages. Just a lad and his mate. Always have something interesting in. I've seen them doing everything from a bare metal Merc SL (convertible rather than gullwing, sadly) to wetsanding a MKIII Supra. I've had two cars into them and been happy both times.

There's also Paint-Worx in Loughborough who have an exceptionally good reputation in the VW T5 crowd, but they seem v busy.

Used these guys for some fabrication work and a respray last year.
Small father and son business who only do private client work (no insurance work).
Not cheap but the quality of their work is top class.

Might be a bit too far to travel, but I highly recommend https://www.autotekbodyrepairs.co.uk/ Brilliant work every time, I have used them for private work to my own cars, and also for signwriting our work vans.

Another vote for ReemMachine in Ilkeston. They did both rear arches on my Orion last year, fantastic work. They've just finished an Integrale, looked fabulous.
