Er it might have a more innocent explanation, as a teenager I was often forced to have sex at home, I wasn't going to bloody well try it at my gf house and fields/woods have limited appeal when it's p**sing down raining. So upstairs to my bedroom for a spot of stealth shagging.

I suppose what happended is that over time people noticed that shagging sister/mother tended to result in children with serious birth defects more often than not. No suprise that people would have interpreted this as some kind of divine judgement and codified it into a set of social rules.

Theoretically, and I do mean theoretically with modern contrception I don't suppose there's any physical issue with this, although the whole moral/legal framework we live in would probably lead to some pschological issues.
