Well, I can only think of one reason why one of the most credible looming entries ever has been rejected. This sport will swallow itself up with it's own greed.

No surprise, why would the teams want more competition who cares what the fans think

You'd expect there to have been some level of boisted interest at very least. Would it be fans willing ti spend 000's of dollars for a ticket? They're rhe only ones that matter after all...

Forgot it’s not a sport it’s a business

Haas and Sauber on autopilot, Red Bull getting to run a second team, yet somehow Andretti won't add any value to the grid.

I doubt they'd of been able to compete right away which seems to be a core reason for the rejection, but who would be, it's going to take any new team some time surely?

If they've got the money and structure to run the team for at least a few seasons, it literally makes no sense not to have them. Also surprised with the push in the states that this isn't being viewed as a great marketing opportunity.

Apparently won't add value to the sport yet we still have a Red Bull B team running around taking their ultimate orders from Mr Marko and Mr Horner.

Imagine if Pep Guardiola had the ultimate say over the another team in the premier league. Not allowed to score past man city all season else you're all getting sacked.

I've always liked seeing a new team or underdog do well. Now F1 is just a franchise all the teams know their roles in the entertainment show.

Unless the prize pool is boosted why would other F1 teams want an additional team taking a slice out of their income?

They shouldn't have a say in the matter.

Could kill two birds with one stone and Andretti could take over the RB Cash App team.

It shouldn't be up to the teams to decide who should be allowed to compete with them. That's anti-competitive. Plus they all agreed in the last Concorde Agreement that there would be a $200million buy-in for new teams to offset any loss in prize money to them from any new entry. They all willingly signed that contract.

This ...

It's a nonsense and all of the stuff about them probably being allowed if they bring their own engine is bks as well. Let them run a Renault for a couple of years so they can get established for when their own engine is available.

I doubt RB would sell to them.

Andretti are hardly a small outfit like HRT. They're well established and successful in Indycar.

It's an utterly ridiculous decision which makes a mockery of the idea that F1 is in any way a sport, but I don't think anyone could call it surprising.

They should definitely be allowed in. Perhaps say as a caveat they have to outscore a team after 4yrs by the end of the season or they are gone. It's as if F1 don't really want good change but more Mickey Mouse circuits.

I would imagine that was somewhere in the thoughts of Gene Haas, Lawrence Strulović, Helmut Marko, Matthew Savage, Peter Sauber etc.
