This may be a stupid question but I need a phone, nothing fancy just a plain old normal corded landline phone, Whenever I do a search for a phone on google all I get is loads of mobile phone offers (I already have one of those). I just want a normal phone, somewhere I can walk in buy a cheap phone off the shelf and go home and plug it in, no internet ordering and waiting for delivery.

What are the most likely places to have these?

I've never seen a phone in Tesco, never even see an Asda, then again I live in London where we seem to only get the smaller crappier versions of such stores...

Argos is a catalog shop - you find what you want, write it on a slip of paper, go to the quick pay machine, put in the code of your item and pay. You are then directed to wait, then are called to counter A where your item should arrive on a conveyor belt in around 6.5 mins after you are called.

Meanwhile the Chavs queue to pay by cheque.

You wait at counter A while chavs march up and expect their item to arrive 1st. Then when your item arrives, it is ignored for 8 more minutes, while the idiots behind the counter collect all the items as they arrive and pass them straight to the relevent chav.

Eventually they realise you've been at the counter for an eternity, look at your receipt and pass your item to you in a bag which it doesn't fit in.

My local "Homebase" and "B & Q" even sell them, cheapest being about £4.00

I've just binned two as well, had the proverbial good clear out the other day.

If you're in london, just wander to tottenham court road, you should be able to pick up one from a few of the shops there.
