So my car is booked in to be collected next Friday. I know the alloys aren’t 100%, however does someone know where Manheim’s price list for repairs is?

Best I’ve been quoted is £90 per wheel (I think maybe one or two wheels maybe ok), but no idea how that compares with Manheim…

The prices are set by the funder (lease company).

Manheim are the independent agent who complete the inspect & collect.

In nearly all cases it’s cheaper to hand the car back without completion repairs yourself as items may be in standard (depending on the funder).

Thank you for the reply. Sounds like it’s worth not spending upwards of £180-360 then.

Ask your lease company for a copy of their fair wear and tear guidelines and price list, then go from there.

Just disagree with all damage. I never agree/accept anything found. They contact you about 3-4 weeks later and send the info and costings. I cancel my DD the moment it leaves my drive so they can’t auto charge me.

A few emails later with me still disagreeing and they go away. It’s a used car and if it was a works Ford transit return to lease, they wouldn’t even try that on. The chap who comes to inspect it is on commission. I asked the BCA lot and he rubbed his hands with glee about an ML he had just scored £4K charges on. So on that basis I disagree/do not accept.

The accepted items is 25mm long scratches and no damage to tyre sidewalls.

Which is bizarre as the sacrificial rubber ring is designed to be torn to protect the alloy edge..

Leasys/manheim have told me to expect 40mins-1 hour inspection which is insane for a small car.

I'll get ready for a fight.

BCA inspectors are not on commission, they just have to do it right.

Morning All,
Apologies- Couldn't find elsewhere.
Am at end of VWFS lease and have requested price to buy - what happens to excess mileage costs and minor damage if car is bought by original leaser please?

Well the alloys have taken a bit of a battering. I first thought it was bird poop (as it looked like it), but it won't rub off - so assume its damage to the alloy.

My collection is between 9 and 11 tomorrow morning. Hopefully that’ll be just as quick. Would probably have preferred last collection of the day as they’ll just want to get home and relax for the weekend biggrinbeer

Well, the marks on the alloys were actually corrosion and that is down to the manufacturer - so they've passed despite the scratches/dents. Glad I didn't spend £270 on getting them repaired now.

One scratch on the front bumper that is £90 repair - however I have challenged it, as scratches on the side panels for the same aren't reportable.

That's good. One thing that annoyed me was he was doing to get me sign without seeing the report. Not that I didn't trust him.

My wife also dryly noted that on both lease car handbacks both were on extremely wet and windy days..

I'd hate to hand back on a dry summers day on modern (crap) paintwork.

had a collection on vehicle today from Manheim.

the collection agent spent about 45 mins checking the car over, taking pictures of the logbook, keys locking wheel nuts and service.

he went over the car with Zebra looking car and the scratch card and also opened doors to look down them with his eye to catch any dents. he did not come with paint depth meter as some have suggested.

he was not interested in the receipts for the MOT or servicing as he said these were all available online.

in the end i got charged for alloy wheels- which was inevitable living in London and having kept the car for 5 years. there was also a rash on the front bumper which i was aware of and was charged

the cost of the alloys were £60 each and was charged £53 for the bumper

sharing for anyone who is wondering what to expect in costs.

When you say rash, how caused etc? Surely after 5yrs you could expect fair wear and tear on what you've described?

Are they part of the scheme and can you challenge.
