We get a lot of them travelling up here (Scottish Highlands). Almost always driven under German or Dutch plates.

Wow, looks like this one by Motorcraft Adventure Developments

Very nice, a tad big for most places in this country but can just imagine trundling through the Urals in that.

This monster parked next to us at Landsberg am Lech on the German Romantic Road last April. Dwarfed our Weinsberg!

I see quite a lot of these types of campers on the road here in Southern Germany, I wonder how many of them are actually used to their actual potential? They just look like a very slow and awkward way of travelling through most of Europe, I'll stick to my VW California thanks.

Not to mention very expensive on fuel and consumables.

Probably great vehicles, but I think they are more suitable for the 'A bit council' thread.

They are camper vans for Walts. Eye-wateringly expensive in fuel with those stupid off-toad tyres that never see anything other than tarmac and eye-wateringly expensive parts when something mechanical inevitably breaks - and that's if you can even get it as truck parts are on long backlogs for a lot of common stuff. At that size and weight you'll most likely need a C licence to drive it, which means when you come to sell it your market is approximately 2 people so you'll be stuck with it forever unless you let it go for a tenner.
