Brake light switch replaced now cruise not working

I'm hoping that someone can help me; I had a PSM failure in my 2005 Boxster S tiptronic and the code reader said that the brake light switch had failed. I've now replaced the switch with an OEM one from Type 911 which has cured the PSM fail but the cruise still isn't working, am I missing something?
