No mobile data reception

I’ve posted this across a few faceache groups so apologies if you’ve seen this somewhere else but I’m pretty fed up…

I took delivery of my new iX two days ago. When I tried to add my BMW ID with the car it’s says “generating QR code “ and then comes up with an error “No mobile data reception at current location”.

I’ve tried it in a few locations. I’ve tried the reset (holding volume button down for >30 seconds) all to no avail.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how did you get it resolved? My dealer hasn’t got a clue and is about as much use as a chocolate teapot

Have they enabled the BMW connected drive services - or what ever they call it - with previous BMWs I have bought it has taken a few days for the services to be enabled - could it be this?
