Both the C2 and Mustang was in their December sales unsold, doesn't mention what figure they achieved.

£55K-£60K, says it's from a deceased estate sale .

It got nearer to the bottom estimate than i thought it would considering the colour

and having no hard top, i think the Mustang fastback may come from the same bereavement sale

which sold for £39,200 ,

There was a sale relatively recently that sold a “427” convertible in black which made 80k iirc.
Either was the car was an absolute dog, not what it was said to be either.

It's called auction fever, buyers get carried away plus it was a barn find out of a large collection ,buyers don't want to lose it for one more bid

before you know it you've gone five more nods of the head which means the bidder against you has gone four more which = nine bids more

between you ,add auction commission at either 10% or 12% and you own it good and proper and you haven't even heard or driven it yet, no come

back at these auctions, read the small print you buy it as it stands there unless stolen or maybe written off and not disclosed,

Sounds like i am under selling my C2 by £10K, never been lucky selling by auction but maybe that's the way to go.

A 65 C2 roadster in Glen green, same colour as Joe Biden's Vette which has been getting a lot of press lately

due to him leaving top secret documents in his garage along side it.,

Been in long term ownership before me sharing a garage with a E Type and a 30's MG TA so probably not the usual

yank owner, very tweedy guy living in a 4 million house who i couldn't see driving a bright yellow or red one which shows when i'm getting

Mine also shares a garage with an Etype amongst others.

Yes it's on P 9 under American cars on Car & Classic, At this rate you can have your own Corvette car show.

Seems more and more yanks are joining collections along side British and European classics

There seems to be more and more in the classic car park at the Rivival every year.

I sold my Bullitt Mustang to a guy who owned a Derby Bentley, 2 Astons, E Type and a Dino.

Hence the high prices today,it was the best kept secret but no more

I’ll take a look but yes defined an increased interest in proper US stuff lately.
I sold my 67 390 FB. A few years ago…. Against the Vette and the Charger I couldn’t get any joy out of it

Collectively we also have a super low miles C4 ZR1 and a C6 ZO6. Also a 63.5 Galaxy 427.

A Z06 C6 is on my list if and when i go slightly modern along with a 63 Galaxie but it will probably have to be a 390,

Partly my fault, not being tech minded and C&C changing the way they are selling cars now i wound have before got a email

direct to me,now you have to go in your account and look for them unknowing to me ,last week my nipper by accident

found 5 offers made, ranging from £32K to £47,500 ,i have ignored them all as i can't take them seriously as none of them have viewed

the car,also we found at least 12 messages on a thing called chat, requests ranging from will i take photo's of the gauges and where is the

red line on the rev counter another wanted to unload his 3 car collection on me at coincidentally the same as my asking figure.

Forgot about another local who has been coming to see the car since new year but never seems to get here,

I've sure i have missed a few more ,

Also had 2 guys from France and Holland wanting to p/ex a notch back Mustang at £40K and the other a TVR,

also another local guy who can only view at night and someone else who is local and has a nice Mustang FB but is looking close to my figure.

Out of the 12 chats and around half a dozen phone calls i consider i may have 2 buyers that seem sane enough to show them the car

but after 3 mostly dry weeks they
are now waiting for the rain to stop to view ,only had 1 person to view so far and although he seemed to like

the car after just selling his E Type said that the clutch and steering would be to heavy for his wife to drive ,

Winter not helping as the age group these classics seem to attract won't travel in the cold or the wet unlike the younger buyers

who will come out in all weathers.

Sorry for the "War and peace " post but as you will probably noticed i'm getting a little bored with it,

I understand completely.

I absolutely hate selling cars for this reason and normally end up selling them to trade or to someone on a car forum I’m on.

Soooo many wasters out there and the ones that almost claim to be on their way but never arrive are the epitome of the term wasters

And the joke blind bidders I suspect woukd run a Mike if you called their bluff

I think you are doing it the right way,nice if you can deal with regular people you can trust, often wanted to say to blind low ball bidders yes

i'll except your bid just to see what happens but knowing my luck it will backfire on me.

Sold 2 of my cars at auction a year or so ago, both Italian not yanks ,one at "Historics Classic auction" and the other on "Collecting Cars "on-line auction

and had no problems at all apart from the Australian buyer was a little slow in paying the balance ,

Nobody came to view the car that went to Australia just transferred the money and a transport man arrived to take it to the docks,

Could be going down the same route at this rate just to keep my sanity .

Yes that’s another avenue I’ve used tbf. CC is a good platform for sellers though for buying it’s seems too coincidental that they’ve just made the reserve. My nipper bought his C2 off CC. Another son bought a Defender off there at reserve too which was a dog (but that’s his fault)

The cars we’ve sold on there have also been for reserve.

But if it works then fine. There’s a good audience on there
