As title really!...

When searching on the AT for a B9 S4 with adaptive dampers what should one enter in the "keyword" search option?...

adaptive?
dynamic?
cdc?
other?

Many thanks

Cheers

Not sure there will be many cars with it. I’m looking for an A6 with some extra spec and find the autotrader search function doesn’t help narrow it down so I’m just going car to car as there aren’t a huge amount anyway.

All and any of the above, the official name is "Adaptive ‘S’ Sport suspension with damping control", which I simply refer to as "damping control" but on S4 is extremely rare.

If it was me, I'd figure out which button controls it and where that is, then look at the interior photos. Lots of the spec generated on AT is automated, and should not be 100% trusted.

I also wouldn't let any selling dealer know you're scouring the country for a very rare option. wink

Maybe download a UK brochure for the year(s) you are interested in, and check the optional extras towards the end for 'packages'? It might be listed in one of those and bundled with other options under something like 'Drive Select' or 'Dynamic'?

I would also echo checking photos or messaging sellers to confirm. Autotrader often has an incorrect default set of options associated with certain trim levels.

Only on MMI screen within a sub-menu ('Individual' mode if there is a photo). All S4 B9 have the same physical drive-select buttons.

Why? If the car is right and the price is fair it will make no difference.

It's a solo option, coded 2MV on the build sheet (need erwin to access). Autotrader lists these correctly.

Autotrader can't pull build data from VAG (they can for BMW and some other marques) so does require that a dealer both checks/knows and lists it correctly.

There's hardly any about. I'd just fit KW V3 or AST 5100 and you'll have a pretty similar setup to the RS4/5 competition models.
