shock protection cover split

Hello everyone

had a recent service and been advised both rear "shock protection covers" are split

anyone know exactly what they are?

Covers, which protect the shock absorbers (shaft there of) which will have split.

Google search of 'shock cover split' will net you a load of images of the spare part, and a few of the installed. Often sold with replacement bumpstops.

Downside is to fit them you need access to the end of the shock shaft, at which point, probably not economical to pay for them to be fitted in most instances.
