Hello!!

I'm new, my name is David, I'm from Madrid, and I'm about to buy a 2012 Scudo. I've been wanting to have one these for years, and I've finally taken the plunge.

The van I have seen is in very good condition, it only has one small fault that the current owner has been living with for years. I wanted to ask you to see if something similar has happened to any of you to try to solve it.

The thing is, when you close the van, if less than 3 minutes pass, everything is normal. But after 3 minutes, something is disconnected which causes the remote closure to not work, and the time and date to go away (I suppose among many other things). You open it with the key in the lock and it starts perfectly. Absolutely everything works afterwards. Also, curiously, radio memories are not lost.

It doesn't seem like a battery problem to me, because it starts without problems, but the truth is that it seems a bit of a weird failiure to me, and I don't know where I could start to look. Does anything occur to you?

Thank you!

Is the turn off bang on 3 minutes? If so then might it be intentional?

My wife's Fiesta has something similar - after a certain amount of time (forgotten what now - 10 or 20 minutes I seem to recall, so longer than 3 minutes which does admittedly sound short) the various circuits that remain live such as interior lights, power sockets etc (and no doubt other circuits which aren't so easily observable) even with the key out all shut down as it enters 'battery saver' mode.

Is the remote closure (what exactly do you mean by that term by the way?) an aftermarket thing? Might it have been wired into the 'wrong' (assumed always-on but actually not) circuit?

There should be a constant feed to things like the clock, stereo, and the remote module. It is possible that the fuse for this feed has blown.

Hi! For remote close I mean the system that let you open and close the doors with the key buttons, as remote control. I don't know which is the correct term for it.

Thanks both for answering!

Hi. Did you ever find the problem ? My 2022 Fiat Scudo has just started doing exactly the same.

I did! It was one of the fuses that was mistakenly inserted in the transport mode or something like that. It is at the fuse box on the shotgun side, from inside the van. Iwill check it out at home to tell you exactly which fuse was.

I didn't want to wait to answer because I could have forgotten. If it takes more than 24h since I have given more accurate info, it is because I did forget, so please, remind me then.

Regards,

David

I have been able to find it with my phone.

It is here:

The "SH" fuse should be on the "client" position, no the "park" note that it is very easy to put in the wrong position.
