As we get nearer to the cars being launched and testing, what are your wild (or not so wild) predictions for the 2024 season?

My thoughts are:

Redbull to take the WDC but lose the WCC to either Mercedes or Ferrari.

4 different teams to win races: Redbull, Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren.

Haas to come last.

Aston Martin won't have improved, Alonso will be very unhappy.

I think Max will win the WDC* easily again, although not quite as easily as 2023.

The only thing 'wild' in your predictions is the typo in the last sentence. (I assume you meant WDC.)

Will Alonso retire before the end of the season? If the car and team show no sign of improvement, I can see him just walking away.

The fight for 2nd in both championships will be the main point of interest. No idea which team it will be, but suspect it could be Mercedes.

I suspect that Pilastri will start to crush Lando.

I hope that Williams continue to grow. Vowles is the steadying influence that they need.

If either the Aston, or Mercedes turn out to be duds, then I can see both Lewis and Fernando serving notice to quit.

Generally it will be another good season. I can live with another Max walkover.

Gunther will not be asked to takeover from Croft. “fking Hell, what is the crazy bd doing in the stheap of a car” just wont fit the SKY profile.

I rather suspect it will be similar to this year with Redbull walking both championships uncontested and Mercedes and Ferrari squabbling for second.

The mid-field teams to the back will have all had proportionally more testing budget and headroom than the top three as a result of the success balance thing. We've not really seen too much outcome of this but it's cumulative so this year, I suspect we may have a few interesting surprises. Williams, I suspect will be the one that capitalises on this the most. So, I'll predict two podiums for Albon.

Similarly at the front, Red Bull sees the reverse with less development budget and headroom. the problem is that they have been so far ahead that this has so far barely impacted them. But again, the cumulative affect of this may see them less dominant in 24.

Mercedes' woes were, in large part, due to them leeching good people to Red Bull. Recruitment of replacements took place during 22 with 23 being the year they started to flex their expertise on developing the car. We began to see small signs of this last year and I suspect 24 will be significantly better. So, I'll predict a resurgent Mercedes taking wins off Red Bull and being their primary opponent over the course of the season.

Ferrari - there's something not right there. Hasn't been right for a long time. I don't what and I'm not certain they do either so more of the same from them.

McLaren - Could be a bit of a wild card. I predict several podiums and two wins.

RBR and Mclaren to win races, Ferrari and Mercedes to get a lot of second and thirds.

HAAS last, announced half way through the season that they are selling to Andretti.

Alpha Tauri to be sold half way through the season to some consortium.

Hamilton to try get a return to Mclaren for 2025 and Alonso finally retires from a very poor Aston Martin.

yes, hope so. I'd love to see how good LeC is, as a proper contender.

If it looks like last year with a whitewash, I predict lots of new fans whilst the genuine long standing ones give up....

LeClerc will never win a WDC. He is far too accident prone under pressure and Ferrari are never serious contenders.

Fred Vasseur team principal, really? He is a nice guy and brought on so much talent, but compared to the likes of Horner, Wolff, Stella, or even Krack he is not really there.

24 and 25 to be a carbon copy of the 23 season with Max and Red Bull utterly dominating.

Daniel Ricciardo to do a "Nyck de Vries", get sacked half way through the season without scoring a single point and get replaced with Liam Lawson.

Alonso to announce his retirement.

Benson reporting on X that Michael Masi is being brought back into the fold for 2024 so I predict an intense WDC battle decided at the last race by a unilateral rule change.

RBR to take. Both WDC and WCC. Mercedes to improve significantly and take some wins. Ferrari may snatch one or two early in the season and fizzle out.

A midfield team to win one race.

Alphatauri (Racing Bulls) may come along nicely with the RB19 parts bolted on. They may pull a win in a chaotic race. With new team principal in place, they’ll want to go well.

Williams to be in better shape under JV.

I wonder what would happen if he did that, and it cost Max the WDC. Can you imagine Horner???!?!

intertesting comment from the Merc camp, for the first time in 2 years the car in the simulator has fealt like a car

In my mind that suggests that if things correlate it should be much more driveable and predictable even if it says nothing about pace.

This, I'm afraid.

All of the other teams are spending all their time and resources trying to catch Red Bull. Red Bull are spending all their time and resources to go even faster.

I hope it won't be quite so much of a whitewash. Mercedes/McLaren/Ferrari may get the odd win here and there, RB can't evade bad luck forever.

I think Andretti will get in.

The (at present) cold-ish war between FOM and the FIA will intensify. Wouldn't be surprised to see MBS moved on.
